That depends on what you consider a good return. As with all investments the more risk you are willing to take the greater return you may receive.

Therefore, the higher the bond rating the less likely you are to lose any money, but that security will generally bring you less of a return.

As long as you stay away from junk bonds you should be able to get a fairly decent return without too much risk.
