My credit score is good (690), but I still can not get approved for a new credit card why?

There are many reasons other than your actual credit score, that may be preventing you from getting a new credit card.

The first thing I would consider is your current revolving credit balances. If your current revolving credit balances are too high this may be a warning sign to new creditors that you are having financial problems, and relying on your credit cards too much.
