Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) - a federally sponsored corporation that insures accounts in national banks and other qualified institutions.

Free-Riding – the purchase and sale of a security in a short period of time without putting up any money.

Front-End Load - fee applied to a mutual fund at the time of initial purchase.

Full-Service Broker - a broker who provides clients a wide selection of services such as advice on security selection and financial planning.

Fund Manager - supervisor of a pool of investment capital such as that held by a mutual fund.

Fundamental Analysis - analysis of security values grounded in basic factors such as earnings, balance sheet variables, and management quality.

Futures Market - a market in which futures contracts in commodities are traded.
