Goldman Sachs Commodity Index

The Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI) was introduced in 1992. It is a very closely watched index.

The index contains 24 commodity futures contracts. This index is heavily weighted in energy contracts. This is because the index is production weighted and the global economy is heavily dependent on energy sources.

The Oppenheimer Real Asset Mutual Fund tracks the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index.
