The Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index (DJ-AIGCI) is another widely followed index. This index uses a very diversified approach by not allowing any component to account for more than 33% of the total index.

This is done so no single commodity can dominate the index. There are currently 19 publicly traded commodities in the index.

The PIMCO Commodity Real Return Mutual Fund tracks the Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index.
