I am try to get a house. What is the new credit score that I would need in order to purchase a house given the bad economy and the increase in foreclosures?

From what I have read you will need at least a 620 credit score to even be considered for a home loan anymore, and that is probably pushing the limits. Your credit score is also just one part of what it will take to get a home loan in these changing times though.

However, that is probably a good thing because it will keep people from buying homes they could never afford in the first place.
