Commodities Equities Markets

The commodities equities markets allow regular stock investors to be involved in the commodities markets without being involved in the futures markets. This is done by investing in companies that are involved in the production and distribution of natural resources such as energy, mining, and utility companies.

The main problem with this method of investing is you not only have to worry about the speculation involved with the underlying commodity, but also how the companies operation are run from day-to-day. In other words, a particular commodity may look good for trading, but the company involved in the commodity may be run horribly.

So while this method may be simpler than investing directly in the futures markets it still requires quite a lot of knowledge to do well.
