Actively Managed Fund

An actively managed mutual fund means that there is an actual fund manager managing the outcome of your funds performance.

This usually means you will pay more in operating cost yearly for an actively managed fund as opposed to a passively managed fund such as an index fund that basically mirrors a market index such as the S&P 500.
